Namaste Everyone!
I love this time of year. Since the middle of February the light has been increasing and now near the end of March we have had some glorious days…lulling us to believe Spring was here already. This cold snap as I write is a reminder of all the changes March can bring us. On a personal level too!
As many of you know I have a significant birthday at the end of the month. I make no apologies for being excited about it! But it does mean that if something interesting comes along I am going to do it…hopefully with not too much disruption to classes, but already there are a couple of clashes. Below I have given the dates of when there will be no classes, up to the end of August. If anything else crops up I will put it on the website.
When it comes to change, we only have to go sutra 3.31 of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, which highlights the constant nature of change in all things, including the mind and body, urging practitioners to observe these changes without attachment, ultimately seeking a state of stillness and self-realisation. I often talk about being the detached witness, to observe the changes, however subtle they are in our practice. But do we take that into our day to day life. Some changes are immediate but many build over time. And perhaps it is these little changes that we need to recognise early on so we can take steps perhaps to lessen the change. Or even reverse it.
